What we offer

What Thrivefully Offers

Weight loss medication reduces appetite but it does not protect your muscle or bone health, and does not address nutrient deficiencies. Managing other medical conditions and medications, common side effects and preventing weight return after discontinuing treatment can be common issues. These require clinical support. Dr Chetna Patel, a GP and Lifestyle Medicine Physician, provides that support alongside your prescription: the wraparound care that NICE recommends.

Your doctor

The doctor behind your care

I am Dr Chetna Patel, a GP and certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician. I built Thrivefully around one conviction: weight-loss medication works best when a doctor works alongside it, rather than when the patient is left to manage it alone.

Over years of NHS general practice I watched patients struggle in their weight loss journey. The medications give hope to many people. However, a powerful medication is available with very little support; the evidence shows the risks of this: muscle loss, struggling with side effects and regained weight after stopping. The medication is only part of the treatment. Thrivefully offers holistic and evidence-based support throughout your journey.

Understanding your care

What is wraparound care?

Essential support before, during and after weight-loss medication.

Wraparound care is the structured, personalised support that accompanies GLP-1 weight-management treatment. It brings together clinical oversight and practical help with nutrition, physical activity and behaviour change, supporting your health throughout treatment and helping you maintain progress over time.

Explicitly included in NICE’s standard of good care

NICE quality standard QS212, published in 2025, states that people prescribed medicines for weight management should receive wraparound care focused on diet, nutrition and increasing physical activity.

Why does it matter?

Reduced appetite changes how much you eat. Ongoing support helps you address the wider challenges of treatment and plan for long-term health.

Nutritional adequacy

Make smaller meals count, with practical guidance on protein, balanced eating and nutritional needs.

Strength and muscle

Support muscle preservation through appropriate nutrition and resistance activity tailored to your ability.

Clinical support

Review progress, address side-effect concerns and coordinate with your prescriber when medication decisions are needed.

Long-term maintenance

Build sustainable habits and a realistic plan to address the risk of weight regain after stopping.

Thrivefully supports your health throughout treatment, helping you maintain progress over time. Thrivefully focuses on long-term goals and results that last.

Thrivefully provides doctor-led wraparound support alongside your existing prescriber, with personalised nutrition, strength and lifestyle guidance, monitoring and maintenance planning.

For pharmacies and healthcare partners, this supports a connected approach to prescribing, ongoing care and follow-up.

Nutrition & physical activity

Protein, strength and the habits that hold results

On a smaller appetite, what you eat matters more, not less. We agree protein targets, keep strength work realistic, and review the micronutrients that protect bone and health, so the weight you lose is fat rather than muscle.

Built for the long term

Support that continues after treatment ends

Appetite returns as the medication clears, and the habits established during treatment are what maintain the result. A structured discontinuation and maintenance plan is built with you from the start, not left until the end.

The difference

How this service differs from a prescription alone

A prescription on its own

  • The medication is supplied with limited continuing support
  • No monitoring and no blood tests
  • No muscle or nutrition support
  • No plan for managing side effects
  • No plan for coming off, the point at which most regain occurs

Thrivefully

What you get instead

  • A named GP alongside your treatment
  • Baseline and repeat bloods plus body-composition tracking
  • Muscle, nutrition and side-effect support
  • A structured discontinuation and maintenance plan off treatment
  • Independent: we do not prescribe or sell the medication

What you get

What is included in your care

One doctor, and the elements of care the medication does not provide, across all nine months.

A named GP, not an app

Dr Chetna Patel knows your history and sees you through the whole journey.

Baseline and repeat blood tests

So decisions are based on your results, not estimation.

Body-composition tracking

So you can see that you are losing fat rather than muscle, beyond the scale.

A personal nutrition and muscle plan

Protein, strength and the habits that protect your results.

Side-effect management

Practical help to stay on track rather than stopping.

A coming-off and maintenance plan

The part many services omit, built in from the start.
